"Bad Manager" Video - Health & Safety

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

My next Good Manager vs. Bad Manager video is live! It’s called Good Manager vs. Bad Manager: Health and Safety. In this video, you will watch a "Bad Manager" and a “Good Manager” handle an employee's health and safety concern.

Just like my last video, this one echoed a topic in my 5 Signs You’re Working for a Bad Manager guide.

Most managers are challenged with handling serious health and safety issues, and if they weren't before, the pandemic has certainly brought that to light. Managers have a duty to treat all employees with respect and to take their concerns seriously. Most issues should be referred to your Human Resources department for guidance, but the response of the employee's manager is often the one that will have the most lasting impact.

No employee should ever feel unsafe at work, even if you do not personally agree with the concern they are raising. If you brush off an employee concern, there may be a much steeper price to pay than you realize, especially if lawyers get involved down the road.
